The artisanal legacy of Rolf Zweifel
The integration of Rolf Zweifel’s activities in 2024 brought MH Décors a rare and valuable skill: acrylic glass embedment. This sophisticated process involves encapsulating objects or visuals within a block of acrylic glass, creating pieces of unmatched clarity and purity.
A unique journey dedicated to excellence
A visionary creator and passionate artisan, Rolf Zweifel made a lasting mark in the field of acrylic glass through his ingenuity and expertise. Trained as a wood model maker, he founded his architectural model studio in Lausanne in 1989. It was there that he discovered the potential of acrylic glass (Plexiglas®), a material he learned to master with boundless creativity.
The discovery of acrylic glass embedment marked a turning point in his career. From then on, Rolf Zweifel dedicated himself to perfecting this technique, constantly pushing the boundaries of quality and innovation.
Gradually, he moved away from architectural models to focus entirely on acrylic glass, developing techniques such as one- and two-component gluing, UV bonding, embedments and bespoke creations. Each piece, crafted entirely in-house, reflects unmatched artisanal precision, with meticulous attention to every detail.
A legacy passed on and preserved
Since his workshop became part of MH Décors in 2024, Rolf Zweifel’s legacy lives on. Having personally trained our metalwork artisan Emanuel Enfedaque, Rolf passed on his methods — some of which remain closely guarded secrets. Today, these specialized embedment and bonding techniques enrich our offering and enable us to deliver innovative creations for prestigious brands.
